Cheek

Cheek (Jare Henrik Tiihonen, born 22. December 1981) is one of the most famous hip-hop-artists in Finland. He has published eight studio albums and five of them has broke gold record limit.

First moments of the career

Cheek started to write rhymes in 1998. In 2000 he joined his first rap group 5th Element. In the year 2003 he got his first recording contract with Sony Music Entertainment. His first album with Sony Music was “Avaimet mun kulmille”. Album had three succesful singles and its best ranking in Finlands official list was 19.

Next album was “Käännän sivuu” in year 2005. It ranked 17. place in Finlands list.

Breakthrough

In year 2007 Cheek moved from Sony music to Rähinä Records. Rähinä Records published Cheeks third album “Kasvukipuja” in the same year. Cheeks track “Sun täytyy” featuring Sami Saari raised to the first place in Finlands official singlelist.

Fourth album was “Kuka sä oot” in 2008. Single “Liekeissä” was chosen The Voice -radio stations best summer smash hit. Cheeks ultimate breakthrough happened in 2009 by album called “Jare Henrik Tiihonen”. Single “Jos mä oisin sä” was Cheeks first platinum selling song. Album sold gold.

In 2011 Cheek set up own record company called Liiga Music Oy. First album in Liiga Music was “Sokka irti”. It sold gold in three weeks. Cheeks newest album “Kuka muu muka” published in 2013. It is Cheeks most sold album. It sold double platinum in four days. Cheek is the first Finnish single singer who performs in Olympiastadion. Stadion was sold out in 71 minutes

Personal Life

Jare has four siblings. Two brothers and two sisters. One of the brothers Jere is Jares twin brother.
