Review: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger and following on The Avengers. The film finds Captain America a.k.a. Steve Rogers going after assassin called The Winter Soldier. The film is produced by Marvel and directed by Russo brothers.

Plot

The movie starts with a mission where Cap’, Agent Rumlow, Natasha Romanoff and his men fight against the pirates to capture back the S.H.I.E.L.D. ship. Steve finds out that Natasha had gotten a secret mission which was to download some S.H.I.E.L.D data to USB-stick.

When back in Triskelion, the headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D, Steve is angry to Nick Fury, the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D for hiding things from him. After that Fury takes him to basement, and introduces helicarriers and Project Insight. Fury says that they are going to stop the threats before they even happen with helicarriers. Steve says “This is not freedom. This is fear…”

Later when Fury is driving at the city of Washington D.C. he gets attacked by fake cops. He defaults them and he is getting away but then a masked man stops him with a magnetic mine. Fury gets away just before the fake cops and the masked man is about to kill him.

When Steve arrives to his apartment, he founds injured Fury from his couch. He tells to Steve that his wife kicked him out and at the same time shows his phone where reads “Bugs everywhere” and “S.H.I.E.L.D compromised”. A second later an assassin shoots Fury through the wall. Steve goes after the killer and throws his shield at the assassin but he catches the shield with his steel arm and throws it back. After that he jumps of the building and disappears.

Fury is taken to hospital, but he couldn’t get revived. At the same time S.H.I.E.L.D wants to hear what happened at his apartment. When he is leaving the building with elevator people comes in with weapons ready for a fight. Captain knocks everybody out and jumps out of the building and escapes with his motorbike.

Later Steve arrives to the hospital and notices that the USB-stick he had hidden was gone. Right after Romanoff said that she had the USB-stick, they went to Mac-store to see what’s inside it and they found a location where they can decrypt it.

Our opinions

Captain America: The Winter Soldier was a good movie, if you want to see action, this is your movie. It’s partly fantasy, sci-fi and action. We recommend this movie mainly to boys, or everybody who likes action movies. Special effects were amazing, lots of shooting and explosions. Storyline was clear, there was no “Who is that guy” or “what was that about” comments. Good movie, 4,5/5 stars.
