Fat Thursday is a name of a traditional, old-Polish custom. It's
the last Thursday of carnival - the Thursday before Ash Wednesday. On that day
majority of Polish people like to eat fried cakes. Donuts and crispcakes are the
most favourite.
Nowadays people rather rarely prepare self-made donuts at home. We
can see everywhere long queue in front of cake shops, bakeries or groceries on
that day. Everybody wants to buy many delicious donuts or crispcakes.
In Poland on Fat Thursday the more donuts you eat the better. Even
there are a special competitions about eating donuts. For exemple "How many
donuts are you able to eat in one minute?".
Everybody likes to celebrate that day together. People treat
others to donuts everywhere, for exemple at school, at home, at work. It is the
most appetizing tradition in whole year.
